Welcome to Summerwind Studio, home to artist Stephanie Dodson. As a quilter, Stephanie offers trunk shows, workshops and longarm quilting services. Using quilts to tell stories and represent milestones in her life and community is one of Stephanie’s favorite endeavors. Most of her work is colorful, scrappy and often incorporates a variety of types of fibers and techniques. Her collaborative work has been published in Accentuate the Negative (2014) and Simply Moderne magazine (No. 22). Stephanie has been active in the Kansas City quilting community for over 20 years.

Pictured here is “Broadway,” an original quilt depicting the former triple arch Broadway Bridge located in downtown Kansas City, Missouri. Stephanie could see the bridge out her bedroom window when she lived downtown, and it represented her time living and working in KCMO. Renamed the Buck O’Neil Bridge in 2019, the bridge was demolished in 2024.
